Location great. Typical Italian hotel, may not like if you're used to staying in chains.

just what we wanted for our two night stay. Reception was very helpful.
Top Tip
for this hotel it is better to use the airport bus -Lam Rossa- than the airport train.

Just got back from Pisa, and stayed at the Leonardo. Were a little worried about the hotel after reading other reviews, but our fears were unfounded. The staff were surperb, nothing was too much trouble. Very helpful in printing train timetables etc. Hotel location is excellant, very central, and the tower is not much more than 5 minutes walk away. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, as we were out and about early, and besides, who wants a breakfast in a hotel when there is a cafe culture to discover! Pisa was a lot quieter than we expected, and easily done in a day. A day trip to Florence was fantastic with the tickets priced at 6 euros, and a journey time of just over 1 hour.
Top Tip
There isn't much nightlife in Pisa, for example we expected to have lots of cafes around the tower area in the evening, but there wasn't much. Sadly, there were not any cafes around the river either, which is a real shame as it's one of the prettiest spots.

Mix up on arrivl when given a key to a room that had somebody in bed in it!
major apologies from reception.
Good size room,
great location, central but quiet as down a side street.
Poor breakfast and no tea and coffee facilities in room
Top Tip
Pisa great base as cheaper to eat and drink than Florence, which is only 1 hour by train.
Train service fantastic- Lucca, Florence, Siena and coastal resorts within easy reach.
Robiglio restaurant on Via Tosinghi is two mins from hotel and fantastic - book to guarentee a table, not cheap but great atmosphere, local produce and superb service

Room was very small and area quite noisy; however staff friendly & helpful. Good for a one nighter in Pisa if you are a sound sleeper.
