California Park Hotel

Hotel is OK as one or two night stop. A poor initial impression was created in our accommodation block F as it had plaster coming off the wall in the corridor and off one of the walls in our room. We were given the key to a room already allocated to another guest. Walls are not that well insulated against noise. Two male Italians in an adjacent room were very noisy until 0100 (we had to get up at 0630...) A minor point was that BBC World TV channel wasn't available on the stated channel, it showed CCN both on the BBC channel number and on the CNN channel number (We hadn't seen an English TV channel or english newspapers for over a week) The hotel's restaurant was very nice, especially as it is non smoking (as is the breakfast room). The staff were very helpful and attentive, the service, food and wine was good, as were the prices. Recommended.
