We would recommend this hotel with one proviso. The room we were given was a children's room as indicated by the 2ft 6ins beds and the towels under the bottom sheets presumably in case we wet the bed. My friend and I may be over 60 but we are not ready for incontinence pads yet.
The location (near the leaning tower was excellent) but we were glad we were only staying for one night. The room was far too small and had no bath only a shower. A glance at the fire exit plan showed us that there were much bigger rooms in the hotel but it wasn't our fortune to be allocated to one. It was also very hot in the room in April we imagine that in July or August it could be unbearable.
Only one pillow was provided for each person, I guess we could have asked for more but it didn't seem worth it for one night. Breakfast was OK
usual continental sorts of things. Staff were very helpful and courteous.
We didn't have a view of the leaning tower either.

The Location of this hotel was very handy for the leaning tower and the Duomo. Useful to go the the information office near the tower for guide books etc before you go into the Duomo. They do not appear to be available at the ticket office. If you want to climb the almost 300 steps to the top of the tower you will need to book an entry time. They only allow 30 people up there every 30 minutes. A few restaurants in the vicinity. I found the Lasagne a bit disapointing not enough meat or sauce for my liking. Bottle of Pinot Grigio Rose Wine 18 Euros. Nice Ice Cream.

Regardless of what is said about the breakfast, it is very good - "when in Rome..." Don't expect English fry up, you're not in the UK! Rooms are small but adequate, but need updating a little. We've been to many hotels in Italy and the star ratings are not as we expect. Most are very old buildings but are fine for short breaks - up early, back late. Location of hotel is perfect - 10 mins taxi from airport, 13 euros. Pisa is a little expensive but well worth a visit and you can get to lots of other places from here.

Leaning Tower is 200 mtrs away. You can almost touch it from hotel roof terrace. Speak to Roberto the barman at hotel - very knowledgeable, booked us several good restaurants - Osteria Cavalier/Bruno's/Il Campo. Train to Florence 75 mins - great day out, bus to Lucca 40 mins; try both of these. You have to book your trip up the Tower so don't leave it too last minute. Lots of good places to shop, eat and drink.

It wasn't the Ritz by any means and, obviously, 4 Stars in Italy is different to other countries. However, it was good enough for us and the only criticism would be is that it could do with a bit of modernisation! The staff were very helpful and polite. Quite a few good restaurants local to the hotel, but avoid "da Bruno", they'll rip you off big time. The location is ideal for anyone who is going to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower, it's within spitting distance.
